MIDI Volume Control ("the App") is designed with privacy in mind. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our macOS application for controlling system and Apple Music volume via MIDI controllers.

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All processing happens locally on your Mac, and no information is sent to external servers.

Local Data Processing

The App processes the following information locally on your device:

MIDI Controller Data

What: MIDI controller names, channel information, and CC mappings

Purpose: To identify and map your MIDI controllers for volume control

Storage: Stored locally in macOS preferences, never transmitted

App Settings

What: Launch at login preference, Apple Music integration setting

Purpose: To remember your configuration between app launches

Storage: Stored locally in macOS preferences

Permissions

The App may request the following system permissions:

MIDI Access (Required)

Allows the app to receive input from your MIDI controllers. This permission is essential for core functionality.

Apple Music Automation (Optional)

Only requested when you enable Apple Music volume control. Used exclusively for controlling Apple Music volume.

You can revoke these permissions at any time through macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security.

App Store Privacy

MIDI Volume Control is distributed through the Mac App Store and follows Apple's strict privacy guidelines:

The app runs in a secure sandbox environment
All system access is controlled by macOS permissions
No data is shared with third parties
No advertising or tracking technologies are used

Data Security

Since all data processing happens locally on your Mac:

Your MIDI configurations are protected by macOS system security
No data transmission means no risk of data breaches
Settings are stored using secure macOS preferences system
You maintain complete control over your data

Children's Privacy

Since we do not collect any personal information, the App is safe for users of all ages. No special provisions for children's data are needed as no data collection occurs.
